One Cool Guitar – Hard Bright Dazzling Chrome With An Icon.
I love experimenting, taking our designs to a new level. This is an example of what we are capable of with chrome and a design to be etched into the chrome, to make a very unique and very cool guitar. This is our Hard Edge dressed up and out to play.
Now if you have an idea, a photo, a design that you would like to have come out of the chrome, then this is the process we can work with. It is on the Hard Edge, but we can do it on any of our guitars.
In my office is a chair with an image adorning the back by Fornesetti. He was an Italian Designer back in the 40′s that did a fantastic series of plates and fabrics with the same woman’s face, Operatic soprano Lina Cavalieri. Apparently, he found her face in a 19th century magazine .
“What inspired me to create more than 500 variations on the face of a woman?” asks Italian designer, Piero Fornasetti of himself. “I don’t know,” he admits, “I began to make them and I never stopped.”
I think the look of the woman and cigarette is just fantastic. I love way in making this he used just enough dots and dashes to make the image of this woman, a beautiful woman, appear, almost float. So what you see here on our guitar is just those same dots and dashes but she appears to float out of the chrome.
This is a process we have been working on for a while now, getting it right. But we did, we perfected, the way made this Lina appear on the chrome guitar. It actually is a very cool process. The image on top, when we are done, becomes a ceramic, hard and durable but it gives itself to great detail.

The Sound
Spectacular sound with just a bit more edge. Lindy Fralin Special Wind P 92′s, Humbuck’ed but pure single coil sound, bring this guitar to life. Lindy winds this set so that the guitar’s tone absolutely rings clear. Lindy is well know for his old school pickups and they are well suited for this guitar.
Bridge And Tuners
We use a Gotoh Wilkinson wrap around compensatable bridge, that is perfect for hanging onto the tone and simple and easy to set-up. Once done, its done, stays that way.
Tuners Gotoh’s premium 3 x 3 tuners, full chrome drops, are beautiful to look at and a dream to use, with an 18:1 ratio. The tuners have unique permanent Lubri-Plate™ coating on the gears assures consistent lubrication without grease, for smoother tuning. Gotoh’s new Rock-Solid™ string posts eliminate looseness for better tuning stability, they stay in tune!
The Guitar’s Neck
- Stainless dual-action truss rod,
- 12″ FB radius
- 8 degrees of headstock angle to put the right amount of tension on the strings,
- med-jumbo steel frets, .103 wide and .048 tall,
- 1.71″ wide @ nut,
- 2.22″ wide @ 22nd fret,
- Beautiful Dark Ebony Fret Board,
- Compound Radius on the neck, makes it fast and easy to play for a long time,
- The neck is painted black, with three coats of black paint then seven thin coats of clear, that is wet sanded and buffed after each coat.
